1. Fire Chief Position (10-21-2016)
Lamar County is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Fire Chief. This position is responsible for the administration and coordination of all Fire Department activities through the supervision of subordinate officers and review of their activities and reports directly to the County Administrator. Completion of standard high school courses, preferably supplemented by college level courses in administration and special courses in Fire Fighting and Prevention Techniques. Must possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License, Certification as a State of Georgia Fire Fighter, and 5 years of progressively responsible administrative and supervisory experience as a Fire Fighter. Any equivalent combination of experience and training will be accepted. All applications must be received by November 30, 2016.
